A public hearing will be held on March 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Desha County Courthouse, 608 Robert S. Moore Ave., Arkansas City, Arkansas for the purpose of identifying and prioritizing the community needs of Desha, County, determining whether an application for Arkansas Community and Economic Development Program (ACEDP) funds should be developed and if so, for what community need.

Mayor Simon submitted an application in March 2021 to Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) through the General Assistance set aside of the Arkansas Community and Development Program (ACEDP), funded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) States Program for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program CDBG).
